A guitar should be stored in a case when it is not in use. They should be stored away from heat and humidity extremes to prevent damage. Never leave a guitar in a car because of the fluctuations in temperature. Storage near air-conditioners, heaters, or fireplaces can also cause damage that can not be repaired.
If a guitar needs to be shipped to another location,
each string should be loosened about one turn to prevent damage.
Strings should be tuned in small increments.
If your strings need to be replaced because of breakage, tarnish, or corrosion,
please have a qualified person do the replacement. Never remove all of the
strings of your guitar at one time. If replacement of all strings is necessary,
do them one at a time to prevent damage to the instrument.
Your guitar can be cleaned using a soft cloth. Water is not a good
cleaning agent for most musical instruments.
Your guitar should always be transported using a good quality case. It is best if you do not store additional items in the case. Keep books, tuner, footrests, etc. in a separate bag. Please keep a luggage tag attached to the case for easy identification since guitar cases often look alike.
