Expectations for General Music At Graceville Elementary >
Children in elementary school music are expected to sing on
pitch in a pleasing head voice appropriate for students this
age.  Hints for acquiring a head tone are available in
Singing
Hints.

Children are also expected to play or move in a steady beat to
music.  Movement activities are designed to assist students
in acquiring these skills.  In addition, older students are
expected to read, play, create, and write simple rhythm
patterns.

To progress in each area, each student must attend class
regularly and participate fully in each of those classes.
Class
rules promote effective instruction for all students.

Third through fifth grade students play instruments outside
the regular music class and are required to have materials
present for each class.
